Oil business

None of raw materials does not cause so much excitement and not bring much profit as oil and gas, which are major energy sources. Ability to use these key products and their stocks, handle thread business in these areas, defines the path to economic prosperity and choice of political and economic strategy of the state.

The desire to expand the national fuel and energy base of Ukraine and reduce dependence on imports necessitates the development of new affordable oil and gas fields located at great depths and in the Black and Azov Seas.

Further commitment to increase oil and gas, improve their use, provided the critical environmental situation in Ukraine requires the use of environmentally friendly technology exploration, construction of wells, extraction, processing and transportation, and storage of oil, gas and petroleum products.

Implementation of the above problems, development of energy saving technologies, the use of international oil and gas routes shows that energy use per unit of social product is reduced only when accelerating scientific and technological progress, which can implement during the work of highly qualified specialists of international level.

Cooperation in scientific research, exploration and exploitation of new fields and equipment, sale and storage of petroleum products, as well as long-term agreements on sharing and building global international oil and gas routes in a market economy require training the new formation of the program "Oil and Gas Business, which meet modern requirements.

If you wish, students can receive military training and get rank "reserve officer".

The list of items which are given certificates of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment in 2009 for entry at the direction of training:

  • Ukrainian language and literature;
  • Mathematics - profile;
  • physics or geography, or history of Ukraine, or foreign language (chosen by an applicant on these subjects).


Period of training in MNTU:

  • 4 years - full-time training with the qualification "Bachelor"
  • 1.5 years - with the qualification "Master".


Educational goal:

  • program aimed at training professionals to solve problems associated with continuous process of construction of wells, extraction, transportation to the storage of oil and gas, and their implementation.


Educational program objectives:

  • Students mastering subjects of general and professional training, which is a theoretical and technological foundation for the oil and gas business.
  • Providing students a wide range of possibilities for future activities in the petroleum engineering.
  • Creating conditions for students to further enhance the qualification level, entry to graduate and professional programs of education and higher levels.
  • Obtaining the required basic training for both theoretical and applied research.


Educational requirements:

To get a specialist degree in the direction of "Oil and gas business" a student must pass 139 credits:

  • 33 credits of humanities and social-economic disciplines (including 15 credits of language training: Ukrainian and foreign languages);
  • 29 credits of basic training courses, of which 14 are mathematics courses in 1915 - with the other natural sciences;
  • mandatory training in vocational-oriented subjects, including ecology and economics field.
