Students МНТУ study in light, spacious audiences in small groups (8-10 students), the individual approach in learning of foreign languages is applied.

The university uses credit-rating system of an estimation and control of knowledge of students that allows to raise considerably quality of knowledge which are received by students and in regular intervals to distribute an academic load within an academic year.

The list of subjects on which certificates of the Ukrainian centre of estimation of quality of formation move and is conducted introductory test in 2009 for receipt on channelized preparations:

  • The Ukrainian language and the literature;
  • History of Ukraine - profile;
  • Foreign language.

The bachelor on a speciality "Transfer" is the expert concerning maintenance of communications, to which peculiar language, communicative and is professional-translational competence within a state language, the basic foreign language and in addition the second foreign language.

Its competence covers a wide spectrum of kinds of activity: direct maintenance written and partially an oral translation, information interchange between carriers of different languages. The bachelor translates texts of various types (political, popular scientific, art, business etc.) foreign and state languages, directs these texts to addressees with use of the corresponding equipment and technologies.

Standard term of training: 1 year.

The expert in a speciality "Transfer" should have fundamental knowledge in this area, own several foreign languages (English, French, German) and to use them in the various fields of activity, connected with transfer to translate orally and in writing texts of different types, реферуваты foreign and state languages various information materials.

The expert-translator should own a technique of translation of texts of different types and genres from two foreign languages in an Ukrainian and from an Ukrainian on corresponding foreign languages.

The expert in a written translation carries out a written translation of scientific and technical, political, art, business texts from one language on another, and also information materials.

The translator of fiction adapts to a mentality and style of the author. It reproduces social, psychological, aesthetic коннотации products which it translates. It assumes presence of unconditional knowledge of a native language, the present talent of the writer and the creative approach. The same qualities are necessary while translating for poetry, feature films, and also in work on publicistic products.

The oral translator perceives and translates the information in the oral form. This translator differs sharp mind and flexibility of statements, wide background knowledge of a message subject.

In the technical plan exists two kinds of transfers - consecutive and synchronous.

Consecutive transfer is characterised by that the translator acts at once or after words of the lecturer. It works in direct contact to audience and can use the notes.

During simultaneous interpretation the translator translates simultaneously with performance of the lecturer. It works, as a rule, in a cabin, both with use of preliminary made written translations, and without them.

In both cases it is a question of professional skill which demands from the translator of necessary psychological and philological skills.

In the professional plan distinguish two kinds of an oral translation: transfer of direct dialogue and transfer at conferences.

Transfer of direct dialogue is defined as transfer for the third party that occurs during bilateral contact.

Transfer at conferences (consecutive or synchronous), on the contrary, is developed in a context precisely established by set of the objective data: character of the form - a colloquium, a seminar, the congress, the international conference, a language mode (bilingual or multilingual dialogue and vocational training of the translator. The last demands skills of work on an oral translation for a large attendance, considering work in a cabin.
